Turn on the
Windows XP Firewall
Microsoft included a firewall in Windows XP to keep you
safe from hackers while you are on the Internet. To find out if the Windows
Firewall is on, do the following:
Step 2: Double-click the Windows Firewall icon.
Step 3: If the Firewall is off, turn it on by clicking the appropriate option button.
You can turn the firewall off with the option button, but unless you are going to add a third-party firewall for heightened security, it's best to leave it on. The firewall keeps the computer in full stealth mode.
