The Resource Room/Career Center is the only classroom at the Fayette County Area Vocational Technical School that is utilized by every program. This technology center offers students the use of computers for instruction, enrichment, remediation, and career preparation. Students use software to take career interest inventories, skill assessments, gather information for resume and portfolio building. Software is utilized for post-secondary and financial and information. Students attending the Fayette County Area Vocational Technical School are scheduled regularly to participate in a variety of learning activities in a high tech Resource Room. Reinforcement is provided for students to enable them to acquire skills in verbal comprehension, math computation, and science technologies as it relates to their vocational training program. Students also receive career awareness training and transitional services from school to post school employment or post secondary training. These services are provided on an individual basis with the aid of computer assisted instruction. Internet access is available with parental permission for research, further career information and hobby or interest information. Rules: Students are not permitted to play game software such as Deer Hunter. As per the Internet Agreement Form, students are not to check e-mail, visit a chat room or access web sites that contain pornography, racism, sexism, illegal solicitation or vulgar/offensive language. |
